What a ride, we made it through a tough surgery, probably the toughest yet.
Ena told me yesterday that she must have been in heaven for a while becase she can't imagine or remember the actual surgery.
My life is full of gratitude.
Trena, when is your date?

Re: One month post op
Wed, March 28, 2007 - 5:27 PMHello. Been out of the loop, but check in now and then. So happy Ena is doing well.
Rhia's surgery is next thursday, April 5th. Both feet and ankles. I am over the initial panic and am now just trying to focus on what needs to be done. Between Rhia, job and general house stuff (tax season? Who scheduled tax season this time of year?) the list is long. But I know this is the best thing for her in the long run, so I'm just plowing through.
She is starting to get nervous. We talked more today about what will happen and the hospital and how she'll be out of school for a few weeks and she got really tearful. I told her it was okay to cry and be scared, but all would be well. She said she wasn't scared, "Just a little bit nervous." She put on a big smile, trying so hard to be brave. I'm glad I've worked through my own terror so I can focus on her now and give her every bit of strength she might need. Of course I'm still scared, but I know we will all get through this and in a few months she'll be buying new shoes for her new, stronger feet.
